Concert
November 17 concert with Bela Fleck (banjo) Zakir Husssain (tabla) Edgar Meyer (bass) and Ramesh Chauria (Indian flute)
mesmerizing. What I loved: the soaring notes and melodies of the fluter, the drone of the bass, but then the melodies of bluegrass/classical/jazz, the beat and expressiveness of the tabla, banjo melodies
The bass had me diving deep -- like whale song, undersea, primal, creation, beginnings, om, vibration; the flute soared like a bird, a cry, flight, wind, air, vayus tabla: rhythm of life, the beat of time, heartbeat, playful, urgent, various spaces of silence between impossibly intricate music making
meditative; to listen was to pay attention and be in the moment
pulse and vibration...life, art, consciousness
